Seeds of New Life
Chipping away at the rotted wood
To replace it with new
Bleaching and blanching the exposed beam
To kill any parasite still living to rot out the foundation of all that’s been built
Sanding to the core
Hard to breathe, hard to kneel, hard to see
Has it all been cleaned, cleared of its flaws?
No way to know until it’s too late.
So just hope.
Hope that it’s ready for new life
A new beginning to build something new
On the best of the past lives lived
The best of what was
Will become the new.
