When the gate is opened
The domesticated sheep
Stay inside the fence
Despite the respite
They’ve been given
From their imprisonment.
It makes you wonder
If they found God
And believe the rules
Still apply to them
Or if they are lambs
Naive and naked
Ready to be slaughtered.
