An old couple and their dog were found dead today at their house just up the mountain from me.
Whether suicide or CO2, they died together.
My mother called me concerned about the dog, poor dog, she said.
I said lucky dog,
you wouldn’t want to wake up with both your owners dead.
She said they should’ve given him away
I said the dog would have taken that as the rejection of his whole life‘s best friend.
It’s better to die quietly in his sleep alongside him .
Do not give away the dog.
Do not make the dark wonder what he did wrong. Do not make the dog worry about you.
Do not make the dog find you dead.
Or die of starvation waiting on a wellness check.
