Eclipse

Eclipse

Jan 20

The moon is ever-present
Even when she hides.
Waxing, waning,
Waiting, wanting.
Pulling the tides
along the shore
Under her control
Bringing beauty
to the night
As she reflects the glory
Of the absent sun.
Even when the Earth
Stands between them
She smiles wide and
Waits for his return.

The moon hides in shadow
But she cannot fall away
Ever-present, ever-waiting
Waxing and waning
Closer and farther
But never close enough for touching
She watches in her darkness
Dramatic as she ever
Reflects his light and joy
Until he steps into the sun.
